I lead The Marshall Project, working with our staff to develop strong business and editorial strategies that help us continue our years-long efforts to engage and inform communities about the state of the criminal justice system.
I have been a journalist for decades, from covering issues that include health and government accountability, to ultimately helping or leading newsrooms in Virginia, South Carolina, Indiana and Texas, as well as working with editorial newsrooms in regions serving the South and Midwest.
Over the years, the journalism I've worked on has won a number of notable honors, including IRE, ONA and Goldsmith awards, and a Pulitzer. I love helping journalists produce groundbreaking work that uplifts communities, and I love helping my colleagues fulfill their career ambitions.
In my spare time, I enjoy weightlifting and other forms of working out, traveling and watching LSU and the Saints!
