My Background

I have spent 11 years working in local news, most recently at Outlier Media in my hometown of Detroit. In my most recent role as chief of revenue and operations, I helped grow the organization from a small start-up into a fully staffed nonprofit newsroom in less than four years. Prior to that, I worked on the early phases of Planet Detroit, a start-up nonprofit newsroom focused on the intersection of environment and health in Detroit.

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Michigan State University and a Master of Arts in employment and labor relations from Wayne State University in Detroit. In late 2025, I relocated to Los Angeles with my husband and three cats.
