Chief Strategy Officer
I lead The Marshall Project’s overall growth efforts, including earned revenue, advertising, sponsorship, communications and marketing.
At The Marshall Project, I oversee business strategy, communications, marketing, and efforts to grow audience and revenue — including the organization’s first advertising and sponsorship programs. I also lead new business development initiatives and support our Inside Story video series and local newsroom expansion.
Previously, I was chief of new audiences and community at The Wall Street Journal, where I led engagement strategy, launched newsletters and hosted conversations on race, policing and reentry. I’ve also served as an editor at The Detroit News, New England assistant bureau chief at The Associated Press and a reporter at The Cleveland Plain Dealer. I’m co-author of the USA Today bestseller “Fifteen Cents on the Dollar,” which explores wealth disparities in the United States.
I live in Kansas City, Missouri, and hold real estate licenses in Missouri and Massachusetts.
Talk to me about marketing, sponsorships, advertising, communications strategy and audience growth.
